Ivors Rebel tops DBS January Sale 28 Jan 2015

Three-year-old Ivors Rebel (Cockney Rebel), who broke the juvenile track record at Lingfield Park last year over the minimum trip and followed up with a four and a half-length victory at the same track last Saturday, caught the eye of Northern Line Racing to top the one-day DBS January Sale yesterday.

Ivors Rebel recorded an eye-catching victory for his first start as 3yo at Lingfield today. The son of Cockney Rebel, sent off as second favourite in the Class 3 Unibet Handicap (5f), made it all, raced keenly and went clear 1f out winning by 4 ½ lengths.

Betfair Hurdle (Gr3) next for Seedling 8 Jan 2015

Seedling, a bay gelding by Cockney Rebel and a winner of his last three starts and a 14-1 chance could line up for the Betfair Hurdle (Gr3) to be run in Newbury on 7th February.

Warren Greatrex, who trains the six-year-old for Equis and Christopher Spence, said:  "The Betfair Hurdle is definitely a race we are looking at with Seedling.

First runner for Cockney in 2015 gets Black Type 1 Jan 2015

Ghost Protocol, a 6 yo gelding by Cockney Rebel became the first Black Type horse for his sire in Australia when arriving close second in the Tattersalls Club Cup over 12f at Randwick on the New Year’s Day. The bay was sold to Australia in Tattersalls October sales and won his first race down under on the 10th December 2014.

COCKNEY SPARROW, winner of last season's Grade 2 QTS Scottish Champion Hurdle and described by John Quinn as "the best mare I've trained," has died of colic.

The five-year-old, a triple-winner on the Flat, won five of her 11 starts over hurdles and chased home My Tent Or Yours in last season's Grade 1 Fighting Fifth Hurdle at Newcastle.

Going through the ring as lot 46 at the Arqana Arc sale, traditionally held on the Saturday evening before the Arc day at Longchamp, our homebred chesnut colt by Cockney Rebel made € 200 000, thus making nice ROI for his owner Louis Clair Crane, who bought the horse through the bloodstock agent Guy Petit a year earlier at the Arqana october yearling sale for € 20.000.

Silvery Moon sold to Germany 21 Nov 2012

One of the biggest attractions of the Arqana Autumn sale that took place in Deauville on the 19th and 20th November turned out to be our homebred SILVERY MOON. Yearling colt by I WAS FRAMED couldn't pass unnoticed not only due to his unique colour but also his impressive physique. The auction room was full of spectators curious to see the horse through the ring.

Modern Society, the 2 year old colt by I Was Framed, draw plenty of attention at his first two race appearences early in April. It is now thought that the trainer Andrew Reid will wait until later in the season for races better suited to his pedigree.

His dam Artzola was a four time winner over distances ranging from 9 to 12 furlongs.

 A 2 year old Thoroughbred colt by I Was Framed, bred at Andbell stud and now named Modern Society won admiration – and double-takes – as he was given the green light to join the racing circuit.
The two-year-old is a skewbald, meaning his body is spattered with patches of white and another non-black colour. The colt was sold as yearling at Tattersalls in October 2010.

 Yalumba, our 3-year-old filly by Epalo, has made a perfect start to the 2012 season by winning the 2.100m Prix Leandra at St Cloud on the 20th March.  The good looking Next More yearling filly by Linngari went through the ring at Deauville October sales on the 17th October, being presented by Coulonches Consignment. She did atract plenty of interest and was finally knoked down to BBA Germany for €65,000, thus becoming the highest priced yearling by her sire Lingari.

 Cockney Dancer (Cockney Rebel) finished strongly in the EBF Maiden stakes at Windsor on the 22nd August to get the better of the Sir Michael Stoute-trained Ladyship (Oasis Dream), who had made a promising debut at Newmarket, and the fact that the pair pulled five lengths clear of the third suggests they are useful prospects. This was a second winner on the day for Charlie Hills.
